Description
Tasting Notes: Opaque and deep ruby red in appearance, the 2015 Mueller Family Vineyards Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon opens with intense aromas of cassis, kirsch, blackberry, clove and anise. Subtle hints of forest floor and cedar linger in the background. From the first sip, this wine envelops the palate with dark fruit flavors and velvety tannins that add significant depth and breadth. The French oak is remarkably well integrated, adding notes of exotic vanilla, cocoa and spice that carry the wine into a persistent finish that suggests a long life in bottle. Enjoy now through 2035.

Blend: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot
2015 Growing Season: After a relatively warm winter, the growing season began early, staying ahead of average from bud break through harvest. Variable spring weather and ongoing drought conditions for the third consecutive year led to lower-than-normal yields. A small crop of highly concentrated fruit allowed us to make very focused and balanced wines that express their hillside origin.
Winemaking: Following destemming, the must was cold-soaked for 72 hours before the start of fermentation. After a 22-day maceration, free-run wine was aged for 20 months in 65% new French oak barrels. 159 cases made.
