Tasting notes from Ronn Wiegand,
Master of Wine, Master Sommelier of Restaurant Wines:
“Diamond Mountain is I think the most underrated mountain AVA in Napa Valley. This 2007, the debut release from a tiny Diamond Mountain producer, is excellent, and a fine value. It is elegant and complex in style; a full bodied, lightly oaky, medium rich Cabernet, which is very long on the palate, and finishes with a flourish of aromas and flavors reminiscent of black cherry, violet, cassis, cedar, and spicy oak. It will drink well over the next five to ten years. Fine debut release.”
