Tasting notes: The dark ruby-colored 2014 Mueller Family Vineyards Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon shows alluring aromas of ultra-ripe black cherry and blackberry laced with creamy vanilla and toast. This massive wine seduces with hints of tobacco leaf and black licorice, plus the graceful harmony between fruit, acid, tannin and oak. The texture balances power and elegance -– truly an iron fist in a velvet glove. The long and lingering finish is full of crème de cassis, ripe raspberry and sweet oak. Enjoy now through 2025-2030.

Blend: 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot.
2014 Growing Season: Spring was warm and dry, leading to early bud break, even canopy vigor and smooth flowering and fruit set. With the exception of brief heat spikes in June and July, the season was mild. Cool sunny days at the end of September allowed us to harvest during the first week of October.
Winemaking: Following destemming, the must was cold-soaked 72 hours before fermentation. After a 26-day maceration, free-run wine was aged for 21 months in 65% new French oak barrels. 150 cases made.
